Job Description

Todmorden Town Council is seeking an Assistant Town Clerk, reporting to the Town Clerk, to support the Town Council to carry out its duties and functions.

Working closely with the Town Clerk and elected Members, the post holder will be responsible for the Office of the Mayor's Diary of Engagements (including accompanying the Mayor on some high profile engagemtns) All communications including Town Council publications and Website, Clerking of Development and Emergency Climate Change Committees and assisting with the financial administration of the Town Council.

Experience of administration, use of social media, web site management and knowledge of financial systems are all core requirements of the role that operates within a small but busy team focussed on delivering an outstanding Town Council service.

Effective communication at all levels is a requirement for the post and the post holder will be expected to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders, including elected Members and members of the public.

It is expected that this post will be a developing position, especially in relation to project work and subject to a further structural review of need, the post may be changed to a permanent post within the fixed term period stated.

There is a requirement for some evening and weekend work for which either overtime or time off in lieu will be applied.

Job Description

Todmorden Town Council is seeking an Administrative Assistant, reporting to the Town Clerk, to support the Town Council to carry out its duties and functions.

Working closely with the Town Clerk and elected Members, the post holder will be responsible for delivering a range of administrative duties and will be expected to actively contribute to improving existing systems and processes while also developing new ones.

The post holder will come in contact with a wide range of stakeholders, including elected Members and members of the public and be expected to provide excellent levels of service.

It is expected that this post will be a developing position, especially in relation to project work and subject to a further structural review of need, the post may be changed to a permanent post within the fixed term period stated.
